- On March 29, 1999, Crystal Wells was last seen sleeping in her Simi Valley, California home. She didn’t show up for appointments that day and the next, and her fiancé reported her missing on March 31st. She only took her wallet and keys when she disappeared, leaving behind her ID, engagement ring, and even her welfare check. She didn’t have a car.
A prisoner claimed in 2001 that another prisoner confessed to killing Wells—allegedly because she walked in on him making meth and he killed her to keep her quiet. However, this claim was never proven. Wells’s disappearance remains a mystery. She had a young daughter from a previous relationship who was living with her father at the time.
