- On January 7, 1992, Beste disappeared from her home in Afton, Missouri. A friend saw her at her house on Seibert Avenue, but an hour later, her six-year-old son came home from school to find her gone. She vanished without a trace and has never been found. Strangely, she left her car at home with some unwrapped Christmas gifts in it, but her purse was missing. Police think something bad happened to her, and the case remains a mystery.
