- In February 1999, Paul Skiba, his daughter Sarah, and Paul’s employee, Chivers, disappeared after a moving job. They were last seen around 6:00 p.m. on February 7th in Morrison, Colorado.
Initially, police suspected Paul had kidnapped Sarah due to a custody dispute. But three weeks later, their moving truck was found abandoned in Westminster, Colorado. The truck had bullet holes, blood, a piece of scalp (identified as Paul’s), and Sarah’s hair. DNA confirmed the blood belonged to Paul and Sarah. Chivers’s car was also there, but Paul’s personal car was found in Denver.
This evidence led police to believe Paul, Sarah, and Chivers were ambushed and killed. They think Paul was the target, and the others were just there. The moving truck’s ramp, straps, and blankets were missing – possibly used to hide the bodies. Searches of nearby lakes turned up nothing.
Despite a false rumor of an arrest in August 1999, no one has ever been charged with these crimes. The case remains unsolved.
