Details of Disappearance:: A woman named Burleigh vanished in Walnut Creek, California, on September 11, 1977. Years later, in 2008, Roger Reece Kibbe was charged with her murder, along with the murders of five other women. Kibbe was already in prison for a different murder. Police thought he was the “I-5 Strangler,” a serial killer. In 2009, Kibbe admitted to killing Burleigh and showed police where he’d buried her. Parts of her bones were found in 2011 near Lake Berryessa, and DNA tests confirmed it was her. Kibbe claimed she was his first victim.
