- Police talked to Contreras on July 5, 2002. Her family didn’t hear from her after August 2002. She lived on North Avenue in Aurora. Because most of her family lived far away, they didn’t notice she was missing right away. Her uncle finally reported her missing on October 3, 2002. The next day, her truck was found at a Target in Naperville.
Contreras was from Jalisco, Mexico, and had lived in Aurora for five years. She’d worked at a hospital. At the time she disappeared, the police were investigating her for drug crimes, but she hadn’t been charged with anything. Nobody knows exactly what happened to her.
