Details of Disappearance:

On February 28, 1977, Ann Evitts vanished in Kansas City, Missouri. She was last seen between 3 and 4 pm during her lunch break. She ran a few errands: getting her watch fixed, shopping at the Country Club Plaza, and buying coffee and an umbrella at a drugstore.

Her yellow MG sports car was found parked where she usually left it, with the umbrella inside, but she was gone. Her husband didn’t know she was missing until her boss called around 6 pm.

Ten days later, her purse and belongings turned up under a bridge. Evitts was a meticulous person, loved her car, and wouldn’t have walked if she could drive. She had a good life: happily married, no money problems, and recently started a new job at a law firm.

Police arrested a man three weeks later, suspecting him of kidnapping, but there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him. Her disappearance remains a mystery, and her husband, who had her declared legally dead after seven years, still seeks answers.
