- Details of Disappearance:
- Lucia disappeared in late June 2011 from Worthington, Minnesota. She was last seen with a man named Bernardino Ramirez-Perez (who also uses other names). They were traveling together in his maroon Buick Century, looking for work. They may have gone to Rock Valley, Iowa, and Lucia likely visited several businesses in northwest Iowa.
Bernardino returned to Worthington on June 26th with a scratch on his face. He claimed Lucia was arrested in Hull, Iowa, for immigration issues, but that was a lie. Police searched his car but found nothing.
Bernardino has a long history of violence, including arrests for domestic violence, sexual assault, and kidnapping. He left town soon after Lucia disappeared and hasn’t been found. While he’s a person of interest in Lucia’s disappearance, there isn’t enough evidence to charge him.
Lucia left behind a son and two young children. Her case is still unsolved, and police are concerned for her safety because of Bernardino’s violent past.
