Details of Disappearance:
On June 24, 1979, Lucinda disappeared in Torrance, California. She was walking home from a church youth group meeting when she vanished. Only one of her shoes was found near the road. She left money in her savings account, suggesting she didn’t run away.

Later that year, Lawrence Bittaker and Roy Norris were caught. They were serial killers who used a van they called “Murder Mac” to kidnap, rape, and murder many young women, including Lucinda and Andrea Hall. Bittaker and Norris confessed to kidnapping and raping Lucinda and leaving her body in a hidden canyon, but each claimed the other strangled her. Lucinda was their first known victim.

Norris got a life sentence in exchange for testifying against Bittaker, who was sentenced to death. Bittaker died in prison in 2019, and Norris died in 2020. Sadly, the bodies of Lucinda and Andrea have never been found.
