Details of Disappearance:

Lynn Schuller vanished from her Cedar Rapids, Iowa home on August 6, 1972. Her husband, Keith, said she was asleep when he and their son went fishing that morning. When they returned, Lynn and her bike were gone. The bike later reappeared in the yard, but Lynn was nowhere to be found. All her belongings were still in the house.

Keith acted suspiciously. He refused to help police search, and police found several sharp objects (a shovel, machete, knives, and a spade) in their home. He stopped cooperating with the investigation and hired a lawyer.

Lynn and Keith had marital problems; he’d even asked for a divorce the year before. A few months before her disappearance, Lynn told her mother Keith had threatened her life. Rumors circulated that Keith, who owned an alligator and snakes, disposed of Lynn’s body by feeding it to them, but police dismissed this theory.

After Lynn disappeared, Keith tried to divorce her seven times, dropping each attempt when Lynn’s parents intervened. He finally got a divorce in 1976, secretly obtained in a different county. He then had Lynn declared legally dead and their son received her life insurance money. He remarried, but that marriage also ended. He denies any involvement in Lynn’s disappearance, but police suspect foul play. The case remains unsolved.
