- Details of Disappearance:
- Lynn Bush disappeared on December 8, 1990, after going to the grocery store in Casper, Wyoming. Her husband, David, reported her missing the next day, saying he found her truck with groceries inside but no Lynn. He claimed he waited to report her missing because he thought she’d left him due to his affairs.
However, Lynn’s family didn’t believe this, especially since she left behind their two-year-old daughter, Misty.
Years later, in 2006, David was arrested for Lynn’s murder. New evidence, including Lynn’s blood found in their truck and their home, and incriminating statements David made (including claims about putting her body in a freezer), led to the charges. David’s girlfriend, who moved in shortly after Lynn vanished and forged Lynn’s signature on documents, further fueled suspicion. A National Guard colleague also testified that David had taken two body bags around the time of Lynn’s disappearance.
Misty, who suffered from PTSD, made disturbing statements during therapy suggesting she witnessed her father harming her mother. While Misty couldn’t remember at the trial, other evidence was strong enough to convict David in 2007.
David appealed, blaming his brother, but the brother had an alibi and was in prison for unrelated charges. The conviction was upheld. Lynn’s body was never found, but all evidence points to foul play by her husband.
