Details of Disappearance:
In June 1968, Barbara Babcock disappeared from Venice, California. She last contacted her family on June 11th, saying she’d be visiting her mother the next day. She never arrived.

Babcock worked at a bar and a factory in Santa Monica. When her sister, Pat Foy, couldn’t reach her, she checked with Babcock’s workplace; Babcock hadn’t been to work and no one had heard from her. They then went to Babcock’s apartment, finding it empty.

The police initially weren’t very concerned, assuming she left on her own. However, her family says this was unusual for her. Babcock had a difficult past, including abuse from a former husband, and she wasn’t close to her family, though it was uncommon for her to disappear for long periods. She had few friends.

The case is still unsolved, and her sister continues to search for her. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating.
