Details of Disappearance:
On May 25, 2011, two sisters, Maleina and Faloma Luhk, disappeared from a bus stop in their village on Saipan island. They were waiting for their school bus but never got on it. Their family didn’t notice they were missing until late that afternoon.

Garbage collectors who work near the bus stop said they didn’t see the girls there the morning they vanished. However, they *had* seen the girls at the bus stop on previous Wednesdays, and each time, a gray Nissan pickup truck was nearby. This truck was seen near the bus stop on May 11th and May 18th.

The girls were carrying backpacks when they disappeared: one dark-colored with contact info, and a purple Dora the Explorer backpack. Neither backpack has been found.

Police investigated their family, but their parents and most relatives were ruled out as suspects. However, two men were considered persons of interest: Alan Santos Aguon (a relative by marriage who refused a lie detector test and later had a domestic violence arrest) and Joseph A. Crisostomo (serving a life sentence for a different murder, and whose property was searched but yielded nothing).

Despite a big search, Maleina and Faloma have never been found. Authorities believe they were abducted by someone who wasn’t in their family. The case remains unsolved.
