- On May 17, 1987, a woman named Ranshaw disappeared from Barryton, Michigan. She went to get milk and never came back. Her car was found a few weeks later at a hotel near Interstate 96 in Howell, Michigan. She left behind a baby daughter, who was raised by her grandparents and later adopted by an aunt and uncle.
Before she vanished, Ranshaw talked about hearing voices that told her to leave. She’d done this before, sometimes disappearing for months at a time, but she always came home. This time, she didn’t. Police believe something bad happened to her.
