- Details of Disappearance:
- Guartazaca Tacuri disappeared on November 9, 2011, while trying to enter the U.S. from Mexico illegally. She was with a group of people, hoping to reunite with her husband who lived in the U.S. She was very hungry, having gone three days without food. When border agents arrived, everyone ran, and Guartazaca got separated from the group somewhere between Tucson and Casa Grande, Arizona. She was never seen again. Police think she died in the desert and wild animals destroyed her body. She left two children in Ecuador.
