- Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Dark brown hair, blue/green eyes. Marian has numerous scars on both of her legs as the result of an automobile accident. She also has metal pins in both legs due to her injuries. Her ears are pierced. Marian’s maiden name is Monahan and some agencies refer to her as Marian Hurley Monahan or Marian Monahan Hurley.
- Details of Disappearance:
- Marian Hurley vanished from Granbury, Texas, on September 19, 1999. Her husband, Wil, told police she left their golf course (which they owned) in a white car with an unknown woman, saying she was going to California. He never reported her missing; a friend did days later.
However, things are confusing: Marian’s daughter said she was with her mother all day on September 18th at a nearby park. Wil’s story about Marian leaving for California on the 19th doesn’t match this. He later told their daughter that Marian wasn’t coming back.
Marian’s family and friends say her marriage was troubled and that leaving her children without contact was completely out of character. She had no travel plans and wasn’t suicidal. There’s been no activity on her bank accounts since her disappearance.
Police searched the golf course, finding only a dog’s remains, and investigated other leads (a possible move to a drug house, rehab), but nothing panned out. Wil, who worked at a nuclear plant, moved to Arkansas with their daughters after Marian disappeared. He’s never been charged, and the case remains unsolved.
