Details of Disappearance:: Ruben Berumen vanished after being last seen at a Phoenix nightclub (Amazons) on July 28, 2002. His car was left behind at the club. Two years later, Patrick Herring and Oliver Pimental were convicted of killing him; Herring for manslaughter, Pimental for murder. A third man, Richard Skaggs, stole Berumen’s car and credit card after the murder and was sent to prison for that. Police think Berumen was shot in an apartment, and there was so much damage (even a shot-up bathtub!) that they had to replace it. Sadly, Berumen’s body has never been found; police believe it may have been thrown in a dumpster and ended up in a landfill. Before disappearing, Berumen worked as a computer engineer.
