- Delmege vanished from Des Moines, Iowa in July 1983. Years later, in October 2006, hikers discovered his skull in a wild, hard-to-reach part of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. It wasn’t until February 2008 that they confirmed it was him using his dental records. The rest of his remains were never found, so how and why he died remains a mystery.
