Details of Disappearance:
Marsilene Smith disappeared from Murfreesboro, Tennessee on December 6, 2007, after going Christmas shopping. She didn’t come home, and no one has heard from her since.

Her husband, Palmer Smith, reported her missing that evening. He said she had a lot of cash with her – $600 and possibly $10,000.

The next morning, her car, a champagne-colored Lincoln Navigator, was found abandoned at a Wal-Mart. Security footage showed a man getting out of the car, taking a green bicycle from the back, and riding away. Marsilene wasn’t in the car.

Several days later, police found Marsilene’s cell phone several miles from her home, but far from where her car was found.

Palmer stopped cooperating with the police and hired a lawyer. He was later accused of stalking another woman and referring to Marsilene in the past tense (as if she were already dead). He even bought a coffin and headstone for her.

While never charged with Marsilene’s disappearance, Palmer *was* convicted of lying to police and tampering with evidence related to the case. His son testified against him, saying Palmer was abusive.

Marsilene’s family believes she was likely abducted or suffered a medical emergency (she had diabetes). Police suspect foul play and haven’t ruled out the involvement of someone she knew. Marsilene’s disappearance remains a mystery.
