- In 1976, a woman named Perez vanished from Chalmette, Louisiana. Months later, her bones were found in Alabama; she’d been killed. It wasn’t until 2018 that her body was identified.
A man named David Courtney, already in prison in Kansas for a different murder, said he and his wife gave Perez a ride the night she disappeared, then strangled her and left her body. Although he confessed, he’s never been charged with Perez’s murder. His wife is deceased.
