Her maiden name is Marshall and she may go by the name Mary Denise Marshall Lands.
- Details of Disappearance:
- On March 12, 2004, around 10:15 p.m., a woman named Lands left her apartment in Marshall, Michigan after arguing with her fiancé, Christopher Pratt. She may have been drunk. She said she was going for a walk and was seen near the carport. She never came back.
Lands left behind most of her belongings – her clothes, phone, ring, and keys – but took her white mesh purse. Her brother reported her missing.
Pratt is a person of interest because of a history of domestic violence. He was later convicted of assaulting another woman, but hasn’t been charged in Lands’ case. Police dogs followed her scent to a nearby motel, but found nothing. She hasn’t used her money since disappearing.
Police think something bad happened to her. Lands had two grown children, and most of her family lived in California, having moved just days before she vanished. The case is unsolved, and she was declared legally dead in 2011.
