Details of Disappearance:
Mary disappeared from Lake Odessa, Michigan, sometime in late 1965. Her son, Donald, remembers his mom visiting him at school and saying she was going away for a bit. She then went to her sister’s house in Muskegon, leaving a photo behind. That was the last anyone saw of her. She may have been driving a dark blue Ford Falcon or Mercury Comet.

Donald only reported her missing in 2002, 37 years later. He and neighbors said Mary and her husband, Carlon, were having serious problems. Carlon was reportedly violent, and they fought often. Mary also allegedly had affairs. After Mary vanished, Carlon moved to Mississippi.

Mary had five children and a tough childhood, living with different foster families until she married. She graduated high school in 1957. There’s been no trace of her since 1965 – no Social Security activity, no records found.

Donald thinks his mother left on her own but was later killed. Police aren’t sure – they think she either died or completely changed her identity and disappeared. The case is still a mystery.
