- Details of Disappearance:
- On March 15, 2008, Dr. Gale and his friend Anthony Harrow went sailing in a race from the Golden Gate Yacht Club. They were in Gale’s boat, a 31-foot sailboat named the Daisy. The race was short, only twelve miles, but the weather was rough—high waves and strong winds.
Gale and Harrow were last seen around 1:00 pm, falling behind other racers. They never returned. Gale’s car was left at the marina, and the Coast Guard found parts of his sunken boat the next day. Harrow’s body was found on shore, but Gale’s body was never found. The Coast Guard couldn’t figure out exactly why the boat sank.
Dr. Gale was a successful neurologist who enjoyed many hobbies, including sailing. He’s believed to have died at sea. His family held a memorial service later that month.
