- Details of Disappearance:
- James disappeared in San Francisco on July 31, 2011. His roommate saw him go to bed, but he was gone when the roommate woke up at 4:00 p.m. James left most of his stuff – his wallet and phone were still at home – but his iPod and transit card were missing.
He secretly kept a blog where he wrote about being in debt and feeling hopeless. His last blog post said he was going to the beach to eat shrimp (even though he was allergic!), and that he didn’t think he’d live to be 30.
Later, his iPod, transit card, and neatly folded clothes were found on a San Francisco beach. There was no sign of James, despite a big search. A person reported seeing a naked man who looked like James near the beach that day.
James had been in the military and worked as a cook after leaving the service. Because of the things he wrote in his blog and what was found at the beach, police think he may have committed suicide.
