Details of Disappearance:
Davis disappeared on June 26, 2007, in Jacksonville, Florida. He told work he was taking a personal day and left his sister’s house in a taxi. He went to a pawn shop, bought a shotgun, and walked away, leaving all his belongings (laptop, backpack, etc.) behind. He might have had about $1,000 in cash.

Two weeks earlier, he’d been arrested for minor marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license (because of unpaid tickets from Tallahassee). After getting out of jail, he struggled to pay the tickets because he didn’t have a car. His family thinks he might have hitched a ride to Tallahassee around the time he disappeared.

He was feeling down and ashamed about the arrest and had talked to friends about getting help for depression. A week after he vanished, someone saw a man who looked like him at a car lot, asking for food and water, saying he needed help for his depression. But it’s not certain that was Davis.

Davis was a kind, family-oriented man who liked computers and fishing. He only smoked marijuana occasionally. His phone and bank accounts haven’t been used since he disappeared. His family worries he might have died by suicide. The case remains a mystery.
