Details of Disappearance:
Wallace disappeared on February 4, 2003. His roommate saw him leave their house in Menlo Park, California that morning. He last contacted anyone around 1-2 pm that day, calling his wife to cancel a visit. His phone hasn’t been used since.

Police wanted to arrest him for missing community service related to a drunk driving charge, but they don’t think that’s why he disappeared. He didn’t have a driver’s license or passport.

Almost three weeks later, a McDonald’s manager in Pacifica thought he saw Wallace. This man was wearing a green jacket and white hat, driving a yellow Corvette with no plates, and ordered hash browns (Wallace’s favorite). He seemed confused and disoriented, driving south on Highway 1. It’s uncertain if it was actually Wallace.

Before disappearing, Wallace had a tough year: his father died, he lost his job at Sun Microsystems, and separated from his wife. He felt like a burden, but on the day he vanished, he sounded hopeful about staying in California. He’s a Harvard graduate from Massachusetts. He liked bookstores, cafes, and walks.

His disappearance remains a mystery, but police don’t think anyone harmed him; they believe he left on his own.
