Details of Disappearance:
On January 10, 1985, in Houston, Texas, five-year-old Michael and his younger sister Pamela disappeared. They were walking home from kindergarten when witnesses saw them get into a green car with a man. They never reached home.

Four months later, a call to the police claimed the kids were safe with their paternal grandmother in Los Angeles. This was false; no one there had seen them. The caller was never identified, but sounded like an older African-American man.

Michael and Pamela lived with their grandmother in Houston. Their parents were separated but not divorced, and the children visited both parents and their partners regularly. The family was investigated, but there was no evidence of abuse or anyone suspicious. Police believe the children knew their abductor, because they usually understood not to get in cars with strangers.

The case remains unsolved.
