- Details of Disappearance:
- Misty disappeared from her foster home in Woodland, Washington in August 1993. Her foster family had problems, and their license was later taken away because of inappropriate relationships involving girls in their care. Misty was close to the foster family’s son-in-law, a Mexican man facing deportation. He left around the same time as Misty, and was later accused of getting another teenager pregnant.
Misty’s foster mom says Misty called after she disappeared, saying she was fine but wouldn’t say where she was. Eight years later, the foster mom told police that U.S. officials in Mexico called her in 1997 to say Misty had died, but she had no proof. Police couldn’t confirm this.
While some think Misty ran away, the situation is suspicious, and there’s a chance she’s in danger. Her disappearance remains a mystery.
