Details of Disappearance:
Monica and Michael, siblings, vanished from Brunswick, Georgia on June 21, 1989. Their parents, Deborah and Robert George, were separated at the time. Monica was living with her biological father, and Michael with Robert’s first wife.

Monica had accused Robert of sexual abuse earlier that year, but her mother didn’t believe her. Later, Michael also witnessed the abuse and this led to Robert and Deborah separating.

The day they disappeared, Robert picked up Michael and Monica. They visited their aunt before Robert spoke with Deborah on the phone. This was the last time anyone besides Robert saw them.

Robert gave conflicting stories about their disappearance. He initially claimed they ran away, but evidence suggests otherwise. His car disappeared soon after. He and Deborah reconciled quickly and moved to Alabama, leaving their other children behind.

There are many red flags: Robert’s history of violence, his inconsistent accounts, the missing car, and the fact that the children left without belongings. Monica and Michael’s younger sisters also saw Robert searching for them after they disappeared. Robert’s brother is also considered a person of interest.

Initially, police dismissed the case as runaways. However, it’s now believed foul play was involved, and the case is being investigated as an abduction. Monica and Michael have not been seen or heard from since 1989.
