- Details of Disappearance:
- On May 1, 2009, Perzov disappeared. He texted his girlfriend, Theresa, saying he was going stargazing. That’s unusual for him; he never left without telling anyone.
He was driving his blue 1998 Audi (license plate 3VVN796 – there’s a picture of the car) which had a dent. After he vanished, Theresa found his financial records from the past three years were gone. She thinks he might have been depressed about money problems and possibly considering suicide. She also knew he kept a gun in his car. A bottle of bourbon and a glass were also missing from his home.
Two weeks later, his car was found abandoned at Big Basin State Park. Nearby, police found a tent with a letter for Theresa; she thinks it’s a suicide note. Despite a huge search of the 18,000-acre park, Perzov was never found.
Police don’t think anyone harmed him, but his disappearance remains a mystery. His girlfriend still hopes he’s alive.
