Details of Disappearance:
In September 1978, Dixon disappeared. She was driving to visit her brother’s family in Seven Troughs, Nevada, to get back $6,000 she’d invested in their gold mine. She never arrived.

Months later, a gas receipt showed her car was in the Lovelock area, but searches found nothing. Then, in 1982, her yellow and green Datsun was found in a ravine – it looked like someone had deliberately crashed it.

Inside the car: four cartons of cigarettes (she was a light smoker, and not that brand), possible bloodstains, electrical tape with what might be human tissue, and an unsigned suicide note. The family doubted she’d killed herself.

Police closed the case as a suicide, selling the car and losing the evidence. The family spent a fortune searching for her, believing she may have been killed after witnessing illegal drug activity in the area. The case was reopened in 2007 but remains unsolved.
