- Details of Disappearance:
- In 1982, Nancy and James Robinson were caretakers of a horse ranch in Washoe Valley, Nevada. They seemed happy and had worked there for several months.
On March 6th, customers saw them last. The Robinsons let the customers take horses for a short ride, promising a free second ride the next day.
When the customers returned on March 7th, the ranch was locked up. The next day, a worker found a broken window and blood on the ranch house. Police discovered lots of blood inside, signs of a fight, and some missing jewelry and saddles. Other valuables were still there.
The Robinsons’ truck was found abandoned with a flat tire on Highway 50, headed towards Lake Tahoe. It also had blood, and some of the missing items, inside. Police couldn’t identify the blood. Their guns hadn’t been fired.
The ranch owners talked to the Robinsons on the phone the night they disappeared, and nothing seemed wrong. Three months earlier, the ranch house had burned down – possibly arson – and the Robinsons were supposed to take lie detector tests about the fire, but they vanished before they could.
Nancy and James Robinson have never been found, and police suspect they were victims of foul play.
