- Paulikas, who had a serious case of Alzheimer’s disease, got lost and disappeared from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in Manhattan Beach on October 15, 2016, while visiting with her family. A year later, in March 2017, part of her skull was found after a wildfire in Sherman Oaks. More bones were found nearby. They identified her remains in December 2018. The police still don’t know exactly how or when she died.
