- Maximus disappeared on October 13, 2007, around 3:00 a.m. near College Lane in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. He was seen trying to get into a house; when the homeowner confronted him, he said he was looking for friends and ran off.
Maximus was a college student living in New Bedford. His car was left at the university, his backpack was found on Slocum Road, and his shoes were near Chase Road. His phone, keys, and charger are still missing.
Before disappearing, he sounded worried to his family and talked about moving to Florida or Texas. He’d looked at the University of Texas website, but there’s no proof he went there or to Florida. Someone may have seen him trying to hitchhike on Route 6.
Police think his bipolar disorder might explain his disappearance, but they don’t suspect foul play. He was a smart guy who loved online games and tennis, dreaming of becoming a pro. He hasn’t used his money or phone since he vanished, and his case is still a mystery.
