- Details of Disappearance:
- In August 1979, a woman named Halford disappeared in Georgetown, Colorado. Her car was found abandoned a few days earlier, high up in the mountains. She was living with a man named Vincent Darrell Groves, who was later revealed to be a violent criminal.
Groves dealt drugs and was involved with pimps and prostitutes. He was convicted of murdering a 17-year-old girl and other women, eventually serving a life sentence. After he died, DNA evidence linked him to many more unsolved murders, possibly as many as 24.
Police believe Groves killed Halford. Her body has never been found, but the circumstances surrounding her disappearance strongly suggest foul play.
