Details of Disappearance:
Gordon, a young man with autism and learning disabilities, disappeared from Lyris Farm, a farm for young adults like him in New Hampshire, on May 12, 1989. He was working in the garden, left because of flies, and wasn’t seen again. He had no coat, ID, or money.

Search dogs followed his trail for three miles, then lost it. Police think he might have gotten a ride from a passing car. There were some reports of people seeing him in nearby towns in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, but these weren’t confirmed.

Gordon was bright, especially in math, and even won awards for his knowledge of languages, even though he couldn’t speak them fluently. Sadly, he was bullied at school and eventually had to leave. He’d only been at Lyris Farm for six weeks, but was doing well. His mom said he was shy and preferred older people. Because he was from New York, police think he may have tried to go home.

Gordon’s disappearance remains a mystery.
