- Details of Disappearance:
- On September 2, 1988, a young woman named Webster disappeared in Chester, Illinois. She was last seen walking home around 11 pm. Strangely, she left behind everything: her clothes, purse, ID, and even her pets – a bird, dog, and cat.
While she sometimes lived away from home for short periods, she couldn’t afford to do so permanently. Her mother thinks she might have been worried about not being able to have children after a surgery. But overall, Webster seemed happy and content with her life and job as a housekeeper.
A serial killer named Larry DeWayne Hall is considered a possible suspect. Hall is in prison for killing a teenager and has confessed to other murders. In a letter, he hinted he might have been involved in Webster’s disappearance, saying he would have disposed of a body in a river or field if he’d done it. Police think he may have killed many more women, but they haven’t been able to charge him in most cases.
Initially, police thought Webster left on her own, but now they suspect foul play. Her case remains a mystery.
