- Details of Disappearance:
- On July 29, 2000, Vinson disappeared. The last time anyone saw her was 2:07 a.m. in a parking lot in Scottsville, Kentucky. She left her car and got into a white truck with a man named Calvin Smith. Smith said he took her to a payphone, then back to her car, but there’s no record of a phone call, and security cameras only show her leaving with him, not returning.
Earlier that morning, around 1:30 a.m., Vinson had been attacked by her boyfriend. She reported the assault to the police before going to the parking lot where she disappeared. Her boyfriend isn’t suspected because he has proof he was somewhere else when she vanished.
Vinson has never been seen or heard from again. She hasn’t contacted her three children, and hasn’t used her bank account. Her two oldest children lived with their fathers, but she had custody of her eight-month-old baby, who was with a babysitter the day she disappeared. The babysitter only contacted authorities two days later when Vinson was late picking up the baby. While Vinson sometimes kept her kids longer than planned with babysitters, she always got in touch eventually.
In 2019, police considered Calvin Smith a person of interest and searched his property. They believe something bad happened to Vinson.
