- Two friends, Merimon and Louetta “Kay” Harrelson, vanished from Lubbock, Texas on August 9, 2006. Sadly, Kay’s body was found a few weeks later, on August 20th, in Shallowater, Texas. It was a terrible discovery—she had been beheaded.
Even though Merimon was still missing, a man named Mickey Weldon Patterson, who knew both women from work, was arrested and charged with their murders in September 2009. He’s still waiting for his trial.
Finally, in May 2010, Merimon’s body was discovered in a field near Lubbock, about 13 miles from where Kay was found.
