- Details of Disappearance:
- On April 2, 1965, a waitress named Byars-Baisden left her home in Highland City, Florida, around 6 or 7 pm. She was driving her light green 1959 Chevrolet coupe (license plate 5W-21118) to a bar called the Chatterbox.
Someone saw her at the bar’s parking lot that night; a man was helping her with her car. After that, she vanished. Her car disappeared too.
Her family reported her missing the same day. Police have never found her, her car, or a suspect. She was a divorced mom with two young kids, and her family says she wouldn’t leave them.
Some people think her case might be connected to another woman, Mary Cook, who disappeared in Highland City in 1970. Both women were young mothers of two, lived on the same street, and were never found. But police don’t believe they knew each other.
Police suspect foul play in Byars-Baisden’s disappearance. It’s considered a suspicious missing person case.
