- Peter and Joan disappeared from Los Angeles on March 17, 1982, and were never found. Police think Harvey Rader might be responsible. Rader was a suspect in another case—the disappearance of Michelle Houchman, her brother, and their parents in 1982—but he was found not guilty in court in 1992.
