Details of Disappearance:
Peter disappeared from his Berkeley, California home on August 28, 1995. He left around 11:00 a.m., telling his brother he was going to a bookstore by bus. He never came back.

His wallet was found, but his ID was missing. He left $100 in his room. He’d just passed his driver’s test but hadn’t received his license yet.

A bus driver said Peter asked for directions to Montclair, California, and seemed to be meeting a well-dressed teenage boy with blond hair and an accent. This hasn’t been confirmed. A cab driver also claimed to have driven someone matching Peter’s description, along with a teenage girl, to the airport, but this also hasn’t been verified.

Peter was a bright student, loved music, poetry, hiking, and biking. His family says he seemed happy and there was nothing unusual about his behavior before he vanished. He didn’t take extra clothes or money.

Police investigated several religious groups recruiting near his father’s university, but found no link. While it’s unclear if he left willingly, there are unconfirmed reports suggesting he might have gone to Oregon, Florida, Louisiana, or Washington.

The case remains unsolved. His family lives in Washington and San Diego now.
