Details of Disappearance:
Taliaferro disappeared in Detroit on April 26, 2014. She was living with her boyfriend, Johnathon McMahen, a member of a motorcycle club where women were considered the men’s property. Taliaferro also had relationships with other men, including another club member.

Her last sighting was at the club around 1-2 am, after a big fight with McMahen. Witnesses saw them arguing, fighting physically, and McMahen holding a knife to her neck. They left together, but McMahen returned alone.

McMahen’s roommates said he asked them to leave the house that morning to talk to Taliaferro privately. He later claimed he’d broken up with her and kicked her out. He sold her phone that day. He also cleaned his basement with bleach, and blood was found on his bedroom door.

McMahen’s ex-girlfriend said he confessed to choking Taliaferro in his car after a fight about her infidelity. He claimed he dumped her body in a building but wouldn’t say where. A cellmate also testified to McMahen’s confession. A medical examiner confirmed that someone choked to death would cough up blood, matching McMahen’s story.

McMahen was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison, but Taliaferro’s body has never been found.
