Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Gray hair, green eyes. Shurtz goes by his middle name, Dean. He wears wire-framed eyeglasses and an upper denture plate, and he has a cyst on his right hand between his fingers.
Details of Disappearance:
Shurtz disappeared in late 2005. The last time anyone saw him was November 26th in Fillmore, Utah, after he got a ticket for driving the wrong way on the freeway in his green 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck (Utah plates: 334YFZ).

His truck was found abandoned in Valley of Fire State Park, near Las Vegas, on December 1st. It had been there since at least November 28th, according to witnesses. Shurtz wasn’t in the truck.

Police think he might have gotten a ride with someone. They’re looking for him in Escalante or Boulder, Utah, or possibly Arizona. The Cedar City, Utah police (where he lived) are still investigating, and his case is unsolved.
