Details of Disappearance:
Rebecca Tompkins disappeared with her mother, Desiree, in Bossier City, Louisiana, on November 20, 1983. Five days later, their father, Royal Tompkins, reported them missing.

On December 3rd, Desiree’s body was found; she had been stabbed to death. Rebecca was never found.

Royal was arrested and charged with murdering both his wife and daughter. He initially confessed to strangling Rebecca after an argument with Desiree, then stabbing Desiree when she intervened. He said he threw Rebecca’s body in a dumpster.

To avoid the death penalty, Royal pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder and received two life sentences without parole. However, he later took back his confession, claiming he didn’t kill Rebecca and didn’t know where she was. Police searched for Rebecca’s body but never found it.

Because of the circumstances surrounding Desiree’s murder and Rebecca’s disappearance, police believe Rebecca was also a victim of foul play.
