- Details of Disappearance:
- On July 12, 2008, a man named Sanchez disappeared. He was last seen drinking beer in his garage in Odessa, Texas, around 11 p.m. Strangely, he left his car, phone, wallet, and everything else behind. He was a mechanic, a loving husband and father, and it was completely out of character for him to vanish like this.
Five years later, in 2013, another man, Jesus Miguel Venegas, confessed to killing Sanchez. Venegas had been drinking with Sanchez the night he disappeared. He initially lied to police, but eventually admitted to stabbing Sanchez and burying his body near Interstate 20 and Moss Avenue. Police searched the area, but they couldn’t find the body. Even so, Venegas was found guilty and sentenced to 18 years in prison in 2015.
Sanchez left behind his wife and two young children. Because he left all his belongings and because Venegas confessed to killing him, police believe he was murdered.
