Details of Disappearance:
In April 1994, Layja came to Mesa, Arizona from Mexico to get medical treatment. He was staying with his mother. The day after arriving, he went for a walk and never came back. His mom reported him missing that evening.

Two days later, Layja showed up confused and dehydrated at a stranger’s door in Gilbert, Arizona. The police took him to the hospital, but they didn’t know he was a missing person. Layja told the hospital he was from Sonora, Mexico. A social worker then sent him on a bus to Nogales, Arizona.

Layja was never seen or heard from again. His mother has since passed away, and the mystery of his disappearance remains unsolved.
