Details of Disappearance:
In May 1995, Gunnery Sergeant Casper, a US Marine, vanished. He dropped his daughter off at school in Norfolk, Virginia, but never showed up for work.

Eleven days later, his van was found abandoned – unlocked, keys in the ignition. His wallet was inside, open to a family photo, but his military ID was gone. The van was unusually messy, with cigarette butts and sand inside. Police thought the scene looked staged.

Around the time he disappeared, someone used his ATM card, making a small withdrawal and one failed attempt due to insufficient funds. Days before, several unusual withdrawals and transfers were made from his accounts, using money he’d received as an advance for work travel he never took. His card hasn’t been used since.

Casper’s marriage was troubled, and he was allegedly unfaithful. His wife tried to kill herself after he disappeared, saying she didn’t believe he’d leave his kids. She later had him declared legally dead.

Casper, originally from Idaho, was six months from retiring from the Marines. He was a skilled mechanic, kept to himself, and loved the outdoors. His disappearance remains a mystery.
