- Details of Disappearance:
- In July 1986, Richard and his grandfather, Roland, vanished from their Arizona home. They were last seen in Avra Valley on July 7th. Five days later, a friend reported them missing. It was strange because they left all their clothes behind, and Roland never disappeared without telling his daughter.
Their truck, a white 1966 Chevrolet El Camino, was found abandoned in the desert two months later, near Silver Bell. There was no sign of Richard or Roland.
Police think Richard’s mother’s boyfriend might be involved. He’d fought with Roland and was allegedly abusive to Richard, his sister, and his mother. Richard was living with his grandfather because he’d run away from home.
To this day, nobody knows what happened to Richard and Roland. Their disappearance remains a mystery.
