Details of Disappearance:: Richard’s mom, who didn’t have legal custody of him, took him away from their home in Royalton, Illinois on November 30, 2007. For almost two years, he was secretly kept in a small, hidden room at his grandmother’s house, just three miles from his dad’s home. He was hardly ever allowed outside. In September 2009, he was found. His mom, grandmother, and her boyfriend were arrested. Right now, the state is taking care of Richard, and they’re working to get him back with his dad.
