- Details of Disappearance:
- In September 1980, Virginia Uden, her son Richard, and her younger son Reagan disappeared after leaving her mother’s house in Riverton, Wyoming. They were going bird hunting with Virginia’s ex-husband, Gerald Uden. Their car was found abandoned and vandalized a month later, with Virginia’s blood inside.
Years later, in 2013, Gerald and his wife Alice were arrested. Gerald confessed to killing Virginia and her sons. He said he shot them with a rifle near Pavillion, Wyoming, and disposed of their bodies in Fremont Lake. He was sentenced to life in prison.
Alice was also charged with murder – the murder of her previous husband, Ronald Holtz, who disappeared in 1974. His body was found in 2013, and Alice was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to a lengthy prison term.
The discovery of Virginia’s blood in the car and Gerald’s confession strongly suggest that the disappearance of Virginia and her sons was a deliberate act of violence.
